会议 简介

  糖医学(Glycomedicine)涉及糖生物学、糖化学、生物医学工程和临床医学等多个领域的交叉融合,需要通过不同学科间的合作,加速研究进展,推动糖医学发展。糖医学的崛起对于深入了解疾病的发生机制、提高诊断与治疗效果、推动药物研发和生物制药、实现个性化医疗以及促进健康与预防具有重要意义。

   Engineering 在今年发表了首期“糖医学”专刊,汇聚国内外杰出科研团队在糖医学领域最新的研究成果。我们特邀糖医学专题主编,澳大利亚伊迪斯科文大学/汕头大学医学院王嵬教授担任主持,克罗地亚萨格勒布大学Gordan Lauc教授,荷兰莱登大学Manfred Wuhrer教授,俄罗斯新西伯利亚国立大学/英国葛兰素史克公司Yurii Aulchenko教授,德国马普研究所Erdmann Rapp博士和中国科学院过程工程研究所杨刚龙教授在线分享他们在糖医学领域的最新研究成果和突破性发现。会议议题将包括但不限于:糖医学的前沿研究、糖生物学与疾病、糖化学与药物开发和糖基工程与创新技术。

中国工程院院士

杨宝峰,教授,博士生导师,中国工程院院士,俄罗斯自然科学院外籍院士,中俄医科大学联盟中方主席、中国医学科学院学部委员、哈尔滨医科大学星联讲席教授;美国、澳大利亚、俄罗斯、日本等20余所著名院校荣誉教授和荣誉博士;黑龙江省欧美同学会会长和科协副主席、中国心血管药理专业委员会名誉主任委员;心脏疾病研究“973”项目首席科学家,药理学国家重点学科、国家级教学团队及国家科技创新群体带头人,国家级教学名师。获首届全国创新争先奖、国家自然科学二等奖、首届十佳全国优秀科技工作者等荣誉称号。杨宝峰院士从事心血管疾病相关研究近40年,在重大心脏疾病(心肌缺血/心律失常/心力衰竭)领域处于国际领先水平。首次发现调控重大心脏疾病发生的重要分子和药物靶点,提出药物作用的离子通道靶点学说,分别编入本科生及研究生教材。在Nature Medicine, Circulation, JCI,JACC,Cir Res等国际著名期刊发表300余篇研究论文,为药物研发提供新思路,推动制药行业的发展。自主研发了大明胶囊、康欣胶囊、粘连平等多种新药,取得了重大经济和社会效益。为企业解决瓶颈问题,间接经济效益数百亿元。

Professor Wei Wang (王嵬) is ECU’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor (China) and Professor of Public Health in the Centre for Precision Health and School of Medical and Health Sciences. He is also an Overseas Adjunct Professor of Shantou University Medical College. He leads the Sub-optimal Health and Glycomics research group. Professor Wang contributions to medical science include service as an Expert Panel advising the WHO on its ‘Grand Challenges in Genomics for Public Health in Developing Countries’. Owing to his contributions in medical life science, Professor Wang was elected as a Fellow of Faculty Public Health Faculty, the Royal College of Physicians (FFPH), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM) of the United Kingdom. Professor Wang is one of the founding members of the Human Glyocome Project (HGP). His expertise on Glycomics and Global Health led to his appointments as an Australian Representative on the European Association of Predictive, Preventive and Personalised Medicine (EPMA); and a Secretariat Member of International Society of Global Health (ISoGH). Professor Wang is the winner of Fok Ying-Tung Prize (World Outstanding Chinese Doctor Award, 2019) and the winner of European Association for Predictive, Preventive & Personalised Medicine (EPMA) - Highest Recognition of Exceptional Achievements in International Networking in the field of Biomedical Sciences (2021).

Gordan Lauc

University of Zagreb

Professor Gordan Lauc is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Zagreb, Director of the National Centre of Scientific Excellence in Personalised Healthcare, Honorary professor at the Kings College London and member of the Johns Hopkins Society of Scholars. He graduated Molecular Biology in 1992 and got PhD in Biochemistry in 1995 at the University of Zagreb. In 2017 he initiated the launch of the Human Glycome project and is one of its two co-directors. His research team is pioneering high throughput glycomic analysis and the application of glycan biomarkers in the field of precision medicine. By combining glycomic data with extensive genetic, epigenetic, biochemical, and physiological data on over 200,000 individual they are trying to understand the role of glycans in normal physiology and disease. Professor Lauc co-authored over 300 research articles that are cited over 14,000 times in Google Scholar. In 2007 he founded Genos, a biotech company that is currently global leader in high-throughput glycomics. Research in Genos led to the development of the GlycanAge test of biological age.

Manfred Wuhrer

Leiden University

Professor Manfred Wuhrer is Professor of Proteomics and Glycomics and head of the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics at the Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands. He focuses on the development of mass spectrometric methods for glycomics and glycoproteomics, and their application in clinical research and biotechnology. Clinical applications cover the fields of rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal and pancreatic cancer, longevity, as well as various infectious diseases.

Yurii Aulchenko

Professor Yurii Aulchenko is a quantitative human geneticist with over two decades of experience in academia, SME, and industry. He has made significant contributions to understanding the genetics of human quantitative traits and polygenic diseases through the establishment of methodology and the design of software for genome-wide association studies. He has also coordinated large international multi-center efforts to understand the genetics of human complex traits. His scientific interests include fundamental, methodological, and applied aspects of quantitative genetics of multidimensional ensembles of traits. He is interested in finding how standing genetic variation determines tissue- and cell-type-specific differences in protein glycosylation between and within human populations, and what is the nature of the link between protein glycosylation and human complex diseases.

Erdmann Rapp

Max Planck Institute in Magdeburg

Dr. Erdmann Rapp is heading the Bio/Process Analytics at Max Planck Institute in Magdeburg. He and his team are working on the development and implementation of innovative cutting-edge bio/process analytical tools for a deeper understanding of bio(techno)logical processes - in particular, on sophisticated tools for proteomics, glycoproteomics and glycomics to be able to handle the highly complex samples arising along bioprocess development, biomedical research and biomarker discovery. Dr. Rapp’s successful research is documented by more than 100 scientific papers, 4 book chapters, 8 patents and more than 200 lectures at national and international conferences.

Ganglong Yang 

Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Professor Ganglong Yang is a professor of Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He got his Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from Northwest University, China in 2013. Then he joined the Jiangnan University as a Associated Professor. He completed his postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Dr. Hui Zhang at the Johns Hopkins University in 2017 and 2018. He joined the State Key Laboratory of Biochemical engineering of IPE as Professor in 2022. His research interests lie in the broad areas of protein glycosylation analysis using multi-omics and glyco-engineering of mammal cells. Specifically, his research focuses on the following areas: (1) the glycan structures analysis method development for N-, and O- linked glycans and free glycans with linkage specific derivatization, (2) the site-specific protein glycosylation analysis using intact glycopeptides and its application in the tumor and exosome analysis, (3) the integrated single cell glycosylation analysis using carrier glycopeptides to elucidate the glycosylation heterogeneity in tumor micro-environment, (4) the glyco-engineering of mammal cells and patient-derived organoids to elucidate the glycan function in the cell growth and disease development.
