Workshop: Carbon Neutrality and Wastewater Treatment

Title: Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Technology under the Background of Carbon Neutralization

Summary :

The wastewater treatment industry accounts for about 2% of the total social carbon dioxide emissions ranking among the top 10 industries. Wastewater treatment process consumes a lot of energy consumption, carbon sources, chemicals, and produces greenhouse gases. It is of great significance to realize carbon neutralization in wastewater treatment, sustainable wastewater treatment and resource recovery technology has become a  hot research spot. This workshop focuses on the frontiers and latest development in wastewater treatment area including but not limited to municipal sewage treatment, rural sewage treatment, sludge disposal, industrial wastewater treatment, water environment treatment and aquatic ecosystem restoration, seawater desalination. We encourage prospective authors to submit related papers including review articles, original research papers, case studies. Please name the title of the submission email with “paper title_workshop title”.

Chair :  Assoc. Prof. Weihua Zhao, Qingdao University of Technology, China 

Weihua Zhao received a Ph. D. degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Beijing University of Technology. He ever worked as an assistant researcher at Harbin Institute of technology during 2018.7-2020.1. and now is an associate professor at Qingdao University of Technology. His research interests include sustainable development of nitrogen and phosphorus removal and resource recovery technology in sewage treatment under the background of carbon neutralization. He presided over or participated in the National Natural Science Foundation, National Key Research and Development Project, Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province, etc. Based on these projects, he published more than 20 papers on Chemical Engineering Journal, Bioresource Technology, Frontiers of Environmental Science and Engineering, and other journals/conferences.
