考点一

在定语从句中，关系代词that, who, which 等作主语时，其谓语动词的数应与句中先行词的数一致。  
【考例】 Barbara is easy to recognize as she’s the only one of the women who ______ evening dress.
A. wear              
B. wears   
C. has worn         
D. have worn 
解析：B。
the only one of …为先行词时，定语从句修饰的是one，即one是主语，而非后面的复数名词women，根据主谓一致的原则，谓语动词应该用单数。由前面一般现在时可以判断，本句表示一般的情况，空格处应用一般现在时。

考点二

with, together with, along with, as well as, like, rather than, but, except, besides, including, in addition to等介词并列两个主语时，谓语与介词前面的那个主语保持一致；但由or, not only…but also…, neither…nor…,either…or…, not…but…等连接两个或两个以上的并列主语时，谓语动词要与离它最近的主语在数上保持一致。 
【考例 1 】 The famous musician, as well as his students, ______ to perform at the opening ceremony of the Taipei Flower Expo.
A. were invited      
B. was invited   
C. have been invited      
D. has been invited
解析：B。
主语是 the famous musician，谓语用单数；根据句意，应用一般过去时的被动式。
【考例 2 】 The chief engineer together with his colleagues ______ new scientific methods of farming since five years ago. (look)   
五年以来，总工程师和他的同事们一起一直在寻找新的科学农耕方法。
解析：has been looking for或has looked for。
根据句意，应用现在完成 (进行)时。主语是The chief engineer，用单数。
【考例 3 】 翻译：他和他的同学都不喜欢放学后补课。(Neither…nor…) (上海2012春)
解析： 
Neither he nor his classmates like taking extra classes after school. neither…nor …作主语，谓语与最近的那一个主语一致。 

考点三

and连接并列主语表示同一概念时，谓语动词用单数形式；表示不同概念时谓语动词常用复数形式；此外，由each...and (each)...，every...and(every)...，many a...and (many a)...，no...and(no)...等作主语时，谓语动词用单数。
【考例 1 】
—Did you go to the show last night?
— Yeah. Every boy and girl in the area ______ invited.                             
A. were              
B. have been    
C. has been         
D. was 
解析：D。
and连接并列名词并且被every等修饰时，谓语动词用单数形式。该句状语是last night，所以用一般过去时。
【考例 2 】 A poet and artist ______ coming to speak to us about Chinese literature and painting tomorrow afternoon.                
A. is                 
B. are         
C. was            
D. were
解析： A。 
a poet and artist是同一个人，即表示 某人既是诗人，又是画家。所以其谓语动词要用单数形式。现在进行时可以 表示将来按计划或安排发生的动作，并可以与 表示将来的时间状语tomorrow  afternoon连用。
