There were over one hundred short stories written by William Somerset Maugham,and in each story,he is good at use simple and clear language to describe several vivid portraits and characters,this paper briefly discusses the main characters and personalities of the portraits in his story,The Treasure,with a view to contributing to a better understanding of the whole story.
