On The Analysis of the Dilemma of Friday

Robinson Crusoe, the original realistic work of British novels, mainly portrays two characters, Robinson, the colonist and Friday,the native savage. The turning point of Friday's fate is when he is saved by Robinson Crusoe. He is assimilated gradually by human civilization, which makes him a member of the civilized society, but at the same time, he is always in the position of dilemma, that is, losing his freedom. This essay mainly analyzes Friday's complex fate and the reasons for it, intending to explore the whole process of his life being saved,being enslaved, being civilized and being killed.
