On Death:A Stylistic Analysis of“The Building”by Philip Larkin

Adopting a stylistic approach, this paper tries to figure out the theme of Larkin’s“The building”by means of observ-ing it on three different levels:aural, grammatical, and semantic, offering an example of applying stylistic methods to the study of poetry.
