近期，2021年2月26日，土耳其东部的埃拉泽省(Elazig)发生了M6.0级地震，造成大面积破坏，41人死亡。1,600多人受伤，许多建筑物被摧毁或严重损坏。
3 Dr. Bray的研究工作
1999年 8月17日，土耳其的 马尔马拉(Marmara)地区发生了致命的M7.4级地震，震中位于 伊兹密特市( İzmit )的科贾埃利( Kocaeli)，在 伊斯坦布尔东约100km处，这次地震 造成了 巨大的破坏和生命损失 ，超过17,000人死亡，50,000多人受伤，数十万人无家可归，对伊斯坦布尔(Istanbul)和阿达帕扎里市(Adapazarı)的建筑和基础设施造成了巨大的破坏。
