Description of the Ph.D. Positions

The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at North Dakota State University is seeking 2-3 PhD students, starting in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024. These students are anticipated to conduct research in the fields of (1) analysis and control of PFAS, pesticides, and other organic micropollutants by photocatalytic and electrified processes, (2) control of antibiotic resistance in agriculture, and (3) disinfection and disinfection byproducts. The successful candidates will join the Xu lab under the supervision of Prof. Jiale Xu. Full support with tuition, salary, and benefits will be provided according to the policies of the Department and NDSU. Ideal candidates should have backgrounds in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, material science, agricultural engineering, or other closely related fields. Candidates with research experience in PFAS, photochemistry, electrochemistry, disinfection byproducts, or antibiotic resistance are highly encouraged to apply.
