本标准规定了3.6kV~40.5kV交流金属封闭开关设备和控制设备型式试验有效性延伸的应用和判据，以及型式试验有效性延伸的一般方法。
本标准适用于GB/T3906-2020规定的额定电压3.6kV~40.5kV的文流金属封闭开关设备和控制设备，以及其他处于同一外壳中有可能互相影响的设备。
本标准适用于将在具有一组确定额定值中的一个样品上进行的型式试验的有效性，延伸至同族中具有不同额定值或不同元件布置的其他成套开关设备。
