GB 20800的本部分规定了存在甲烷和（或）可燃性粉尘的地下矿区巷道用Ⅰ类M2级往复压燃式发动机的安全要求和（或）安全措施，用于消除或限制内燃机可能产生的各种危险和危害。
本部分适用于内燃机的防爆结构设计、制造和检验。
本部分不适用于要求特殊条件的Ⅰ类M1级内燃机。
本部分不适用于加工、制造和储存炸药的场所中使用的内燃机。
