The Wabamun Area Sequestration Proect(WASP)is a desktop study led by the University of Calgary that isWASP study area contains substantal l and gas activity and includes the presence of thousands of producingand abandoned wells dating back to the 1950s. The success of a geologcal storage program will depend in parton the abily to choose storage formatons from which only mmal amounts of CO w eak back to the surace9). Wells, in particular those that are long abandoned and completed togenerally considered to be one of the major potential pathways for release of CO from a storage reservoir
