ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP), jointly implemented by ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and GIZ on behalf of Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), supports the introduction and deployment of renewable energies (e.g. wind energy, bioenergy, solar energy, and hydropower) in the partner region through methodological approach, technical and financial competence and enable partner organisations to move towards a sustainable energy supply using their own potential. This report reviews technical requirement for renewable energy generation coonected to the distribution grids in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The analyses captures the important aspect of grid parameters and provides an overview with recommendations to ensure the variable characteristics of renewable energy power plants do not adversely affect the grid stability and power quality. The report could assist stakeholders to develop renewable energy power plant and integrate the power to the grid.
