  • Analysis of misdiagnosis in patients with multiple trauma

    Objective: To explore the features, treatment outcomes and reasons for misdiagnosis in patients with multiple trauma, so as to decrease the incidence of misdiagnosis.Methods: A total of 3 163 patients with multiple trauma who were admitted in our department from August 1997 to August 2008, were retrospectively studied to compare the features of diagnosis and treatment. There were 2 117 males (66.93%) and 1 046 females (33.07%) with the mean age of 36.46 years (range, 14-80 years). Parameters such as general status, traumatic condition, diagnosis and treatment situation, prognosis and mortality were analyzed. The differences between misdiagnosis group and correct diagnosis group were compared in terms of severity of injury, complications and treatment outcomes to elucidate the cause and prevention of misdiagnosis.Results: The misdiagnosis rate of multiple trauma in this study was 16.19%. The major anatomic sites misdiagnosed were limbs and pelvis (299 positions, 39.50%), abdominal region and pelvic organ (148 positions, 19.55%),and thoracic region (109 positions, 14.40%). In misdiagnosis group, ISS, length of hospital stay, rates of disturbance of consciousness, critical cases and shock cases were 33.78± 19.64, (23.59±7.26) days, 49.22%, 33.01% and 47.46%,respectively, which were significantly higher than those of the correct diagnosis group (P<0.01). And the data showed that the more serious the injury was, the higher the rate of misdiagnosis would be. The rate of primary diagnosis by trauma surgeons in correct diagnosis group was 75.78%, significantly higher than that of the misdiagnosis group ( x2=382.01,P<0.01). The mortality rate of the mi sdiagnosis group was 2.93%, which was significantly higher than that for all patients ( x2=5.22, P<0.05).Conclusions: The results indicated that patients with severe multiple trauma are at high risk of misdiagnosis in early treatment. The mortality rate of misdiagnosed patients is higher than the correctly-diagnosed patients. To prevent misdiagnosis, physicians need to take great care to conduct thorough clinical examinations and repeated evaluation....

    The limits of parameter γ in FAST TCP are studied in this paper. A continuous time fluid flow model of the link buffer is considered to create a linear control system related to FAST TCP.Linearing the fluid flow model and window control model, the Laplace transform version of congestion control system are presented.   • Real-time operation guide system for sintering process with artificial intelligence

    In order to optimize the sintering process, a real-time operation guide system with artificial intelligence was developed, mainly including the data acquisition online subsystem, the sinter chemical composition controller, the sintering process state controller, and the abnormal conditions diagnosis subsystem. Knowledge base of the sintering process controlling was constructed, and inference engine of the system was established. Sinter chemical compositions were controlled by the strategies of self-adaptive prediction, internal optimization and center on basicity. And the state of sintering was stabilized centering on permeability. In order to meet the needs of process change and make the system clear, the system has learning ability and explanation function. The software of the system was developed in Visual C++ programming language. The application of the system shows that the hitting accuracy of sinter compositions and burning through point prediction are more than 85%; the first-grade rate of sinter chemical composition, stability rate of burning through point and stability rate of sintering process are increased by 3%, 9% and 4%, respectively....

  • Hybrid intelligent control of combustion process for ore-roasting furnace

    Because of its synthetic and complex characteristics, the combustion process of the shaft ore-roasting furnace is very difficult to control stably. A hybrid intelligent control approach is developed which consists of two systems: one is a cascade fuzzy control system with a temperature soft-sensor, and the other is a ratio control system for air flow with a compensation model for heating gas flow and air-fuel ratio. This approach combined intelligent control, soft-sensing and fault diagnosis with conventional control. It can adjust both the heating gas flow and the air-fuel ratio in real time. By this way, the difficulty of online measurement of the furnace temperature is solved, the fault ratios during combustion process is decreased, the steady control of the furnace temperature is achieved, and the gas consumption is reduced.   • Research on Production Process Control Method Combined Stochastic Process Algebra and Stochastic Pet

    A hierarchical closed-loop production control scheme integrating scheduling, control and performance evaluation is discussed. Firstly, the production process is divided into two main hierarchies: the lower level is the physical operation level and the upper one is the management level. Secondly, the schedule template for the management level and the activity template for the physical operation level are constructed separately, the tasks in the schedule have the ability to make partial decisions, and the performance parameters are introduced into activity template. Thirdly, the two levels use different model representations: stochastic process algebra for the management level whose output is the control commands and stochastic Petri net for the physical operation level which is the execution of the control commands. Then, the integration of the two levels is the control commands mapping into the lower physical operations and the responses feeding back to the upper decision-making that are defined by some transition functions. Under the proposed scheme, the production process control of a flexible assembly is exemplified. It is concluded that the process control model has partial ability to make decision on-line for uncertain and dynamic environments and facilitates reasoning about the behaviors of the process control, and performance evaluation can be done online for real-time scheduling to ensure the global optimization....

    The complexity of geotechnical engineering and variability in construction circumstances of large extra caissons make the problem of maintaining appropriate sink attitude quite difficult, especially in keeping sink uniformity and achieving the expected final sink depth. A new construction control method is presented using (H∞) theory, considering uncertainties in the mechanics model and external noise in the construction site parameters. The design method of an (H∞) controller has consequently been obtained for large extra caissons.   • New Method for Multivariate Statistical Process Monitoring

    A new method using discriminant analysis and control charts is proposed for monitoring multivariate process operations more reliably. Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA) is used to derive a feature discriminant direction (FDD) between each normal and fault operations, and each FDD thus decided constructs the feature space of each fault operation. Individuals control charts (XmR charts) are used to monitor multivariate processes using the process data projected onto feature spaces. Upper control limit (UCL) and lower control limit (LCL) on each feature space from normal process operation are calculated for XmR charts, and are used to distinguish fault from normal. A variation trend on an XmR chart reveals the type of relevant fault operation. Applications to Tennessee Eastman simulation processes show that this proposed method can result in better monitoring performance than principal component analysis (PCA)-based methods and can better identify step type faults on XmR charts....
