  • Solid State Structure and Lyotropic Mesomorphism of Rare-Earth Trisdodecylsulphates in the Water-Eth

    The phase behaviour of lanthanide(Ⅲ) dodecylsulphates, Ln(C12H25SO4)3, by thermo-optical microscopy using Lawrence penetration technique was investigated. The lyotropic phase behaviour of lanthanide(Ⅲ) dodecylsulphates in ethylene glycol water in mixtures hereof, depends on the composition of the solvent. For pure ethylene glycol and mixtures of ethylene glycol and water three different mesophases are formed, i.e. a lamellar, a cubic and a hexagonal phase, whereas when water is used as solvent no cubic phase is formed. The size of the lanthanide ion has no influence on the mesomorphism of these metallomesogens, although the smaller the lanthanide ion the lower the solubility....

  • Structure Analysis of Polyacrylonitrile Polymerized in Ionic Liquids

    Polyacrylonitriles (PANs) were synthesizid both by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and free radical polymenzation in ionic liquid 1-buty-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([bmim]Cl).[bmim]Cl demonstrates to be a preferable solvent for ATRP of acrylonitrile (AN).The polymerization maintains the usual advantages of ATRP with molecular weight agrees well withtheoretical value and low polydispersity (PDI=1.15).It is also shown the higher conversion and lower molecular weight dispersion in ionic liquid than in dimethylformamide (DMF).From FTIR and NMR analysis,it is confirmed that the chemical structures of PANs synthesized in [bmlm]Cl were identical with that obtained in DMF.In atom transfer radical polymerization,the methine and cyan carbon atoms in isotactic configuration for PAN preduced in [bmim] Cl have a configuration consisting of about 55.5% isotactic diads.It is higher than that obtained in DMF which is 52.2%,So,ionic liquid has effect on the stereostmcture of PANs.Further analysis of 13C NMR spectra indicated that the isotacticity of PAN synthesized by free radical polymerization was lower than that of PAN prepared by ATRP,although both of them were random in stereoregularity.Besides the pentad tacticities of PANs also suggested that the sequence distributions of them all obey Bernoulli statistics....

  • Theoretical analysis of the backdraft phenomena induced by liquid fuel

    A dynamical model of temperature of hot smoke layer is quantitatively established based on the whole backdraft procedure induced by liquid fuel. The whole procedure consists of the preburn fire (the first period), the secondary fuel injection (the second period) and backdraft development (the third period). The model considers enthalpy loss of liquid fuel volatilization and hot smoke layer mass gain. In this paper, simulative results of the model are well compared with experimental results, and simulative results of the model are analyzed. Furthermore, combustion efficiency under limited ventilation and practical combustion reaction rate are worth investigating....

  • The analysis of the bending stiffness and intensity of cylindrical tubes

    Based on the mechanics of material, the bending stiffness and intensity of cylindrical bar and tube are analyzed. By comparing the cylindrical tube whose ratio of outside diameter to internal diameter is 0.7 with the cylindrical bar, it is concluded that when both of them have the same mass, the section stiffness of the cylindrical tube is three times that of the cylindrical bar; when both of them have the same external diameter, the mass of the cylindrical tube is only 1/2 that of the cylindrical bar, but the section stiffness of the cylindrical tube is 3/4 that of the cylindrical bar.By virtue of the elemental elastic-plastic theory, the yield stress of the liquid-filled cylindrical tube is investigated. Due to the incompressibility of liquid and the strain hardening effect of material, the yield stress of the liquid-filled tube is enlarged compared with the hollow tube, thus raising its bending intensity. Under the dynamic load, compared with the hollow tube, the impact resistance of the liquid-filled tube is also raised due to elastic recovery. Because the hydraulic pressures perpendicular to the inner surface are identical everywhere, the local stress concentration resulting from the ovalisation of the tube would be decreased, and the resistance to buckling would be improved....

  • Differential Proteomic Analysis of Endometriosis

    Differential proteins expressing in ectopic and eutopic endometria were investigated by means of proteomic analysis.Five patients in secretary phase were diagnosed as endometriosis by laparoscopy.The five ectopic en-dometria(two at stage II,two at stage III and one at stage IV) and five eutopic endometria were surgically excised.One-dimensional electrophoresis coupled with liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry was used to screen and identify differential proteins.Three differential bands in one-dimensional electrophoresis were resolved by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry and 14 up-regulated proteins were identified,including collagen α-1,α-2,α-3(VI),α-1(XIV) chain,actin,annexin A2,EMILIN-1,ferritin light polypeptide variant,fucosyltransferase 10,myosin-9,protein S100-A9,KIAA1783 protein,and two hypothetical proteins.Our data provides a list of potential biomarkers for endometriosis.The identifications may be used to develop new diagnoses for endometriosis....

  • Calculation of Solidification Process of Continuous Cast Bar

    In this paper, it presents the results of calculation of solidification process of copper continuous cast bar by cross section size 120 mm×70 mm with application of ProCast 2010 software. The estimation of mould design effect on solidification process of continuos copper cast bar is completed at various speeds of casting. Profiles of liquid metal cavities and temperature allocations in the cast bar at various casting speeds are defined. The analysis of received liquid metal cavity profiles shows that a new mold construction allows significantly decrease of the length of the liquid metal cavity during continuous copper casting at HAZELETT? casting machine and the increase of maximum casting speed from 10 to 11 m/min. Adequacy of the results of copper continuous cast bar solidification process calculation is confirmed by the experimental data....

  • Synthesis of the Silver Nanofluid by ASNSS Process

    Arc Spray Nanoparticle Synthesis System (ASNSS) has been used to prepare the silver nanofluids in this study. The metal electrodes under the electrical discharge will melt and evaporate rapidly and condense to form the nanoparticles in the dielectric fluid at lower temperature and produce the suspended nanoparticle fluid. Thus, the mechanism of the ASNSS process is superheating the electrodes by plasma to form metallic nuclei and supercooling these nuclei by dielectric liquid to produce nanofluid. This study considers the different controlling parameters such as discharge current,discharge voltage, pulse-duration time, electrode diameter, and the temperature of dielectric liquid. The optimally operated parameters can be obtained to produce the finer particle size in nanofluid. The results indicate the silver electrodes in alcohol fluid will produce the spherical nanosilver particles. The mean particle size of silver in different dielectric liquid temperatures of-40, -20, 0, and 10℃ is about13.4, 15.8, 17.5, and 21.6 nm, respectively. This indicates that the well suspended fluid can be obtained by controlling the lower dielectric fluid temperature....

  • FLOW DYNAMICS OF GAS-SOLID FLUIDIZED BEDS WITH EVAPORATIVE LIQUID INJECTION

    The electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) with neural network multi-criteria image reconstruction technique (NN-MOIRT) is developed for real time imaging of a gas-solid fluidized bed using FCC particles with evaporative liquid injection. Some aspects of the fundamental characteristics of the gas-solid flow with evaporative liquid injection,including real time and time averaged cross-sectional solids concentration distributions, the cross-sectional solids concentration fluctuations and the quasi-3D flow structures are studied. A two-region model and a direct image calculation are proposed to describe the dynamic behavior in both the bubble/void phase and the emulsion phase based on the tomographic images. Comparisons are made between the fundamental behaviors of the gas-solid flows with and without evaporative liquid injection for various gas velocities ranging from bubbling to turbulent fiuidization regimes. Significant differences are observed in the behavior of the gas-solid flow with the evaporative liquid injection compared to the fluidized bed without liquid injection....

  • A NEW CALCULATION METHOD FOR GAS-WELL LIQUID LOADING CAPACITY

    This article proposes a new model for calculating the gas-well liquid loading capacity,which is critical to an accurate prediction of gas well production.Based on analysis of flow regime during the gas well production with water,which is regarded as many single particles in the model,with the shape of particles being assumed as disk-like ellipsoid instead of traditional sphere and changing according to the forces exerted on them,the influences of non-Darcy flow,compressibility,and non-sphere shape on friction factor are analyzed.The differences between the new model and other models are discussed and a new formula for calculating the critical flow rate is obtained.The calculation results and a comparison with other two models show that the new model is more consistent with the actual situation and is practical....

  • Vacuum chamber suppression of gas-explosion propagation in a tunnel

    To control and reduce the harm of a gas explosion, a new method is proposed for suppressing gas-explosion propagation in a tunnel by using a vacuum chamber. We studied the suppression effect on gas explosions by placing a vacuum chamber at dif-ferent positions along the tunnel. The results indicate that: 1) the vacuum chamber can absorb the explosion wave and explosion energy as much as possible at the beginning of the gas explosion, and; 2) when the vacuum chamber is used the closer it is to the ignition source the more significant the suppression effect. In addition, by using the vacuum chamber: 1) the flame propagation velocity decreases from ultrasonic to subsonic; 2) the flame propagation distance is remarkably shortened; 3) the maximum peak value of overpressure (Pro) decreases from 0.34 to 0.17 MPa or less, and; 4) the impulse of the blast wave (/) decreases from 20 to 8 kPa-s or less....
