2012年1月至5月期间,URS为W.A.堂区NRG Energy, Inc. Between January and May 2012, URS conducted a Phase I cultural resource survey and inventory for the NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG) W.A. Parish Post-Combustion CO2 Capture and Sequestration Project (Figure 1.1). The archaeological Area of Potential Effect (APE) for the approximately 80-mile-long (130 km) pipeline is generally defined as a 100 ft (30 m) wide survey corridor centered on the expected pipeline route. The pipe will normally be buried in a trench approximately 3 to 4 ft (0.9 to 1.2 m) deep. Approximately 85% of the proposed pipeline will be located within or adjacent to existing mowed/maintained utility corridors. In addition, URS conducted a desktop study of two related proposed project areas within the W. A. Parish Plant and West Ranch oil field, which the DOE delivered to the Texas Historical Commission (THC) on June 19, 2012. On July 11, 2012, the THC concurred with DOE’s determination that that no impacts to historic properties listed, or eligible for listing, in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) would be expected from construction or operational activities in these two project areas. The results of the desktop study are also presented in this report.
