This document is written to satisfy the request of the Alberta Water Council for a progress report that describes and evaluates the upstream oil and gas sector’s success in meeting the objectives and targets described in its Water Conservation, Efficiency and Productivity (CEP) Plan (2011). The sector’s CEP performance measure was non-saline water use productivity; i.e., the volume of non-saline water used to produce each unit of oil or bitumen.
