By the end of this year, gei had been running for nearly three years. At the end of 2006, we would like to take this opportunity to recall where we started and where we are going. The research, field projects and efforts of gei in the past three years have begun to show gratifying results. Our model of introducing sustainable production mode to local farmers in Yunnan and Sichuan has been widely accepted, and we have started to extend this successful model to Tibet and Sri Lanka; the industry energy conservation and emission reduction model established by our energy and climate change project is helping Chinese enterprises participate in the "clean development mechanism" (CDM) to promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions Our biodiversity conservation project is working with Chinese overseas timber companies to curb illegal and unsustainable logging in countries such as Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. Gei's efficient and unique solutions to environmental problems have attracted the attention of governments, non-governmental departments and civil society at home and abroad. In 2006, we became the first non-governmental organization to establish a direct cooperative relationship with the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, and achieved initial success. In addition, we are also continuing to expand cooperation with external institutions, including domestic and foreign government departments, academic research institutions, universities, enterprises and private institutions. We know that without the support and encouragement of all, gei cannot achieve these successes. Looking forward to the third birthday of gei, we will continue to focus on exploring models that can successfully develop market mechanisms and promote financial innovation in all projects. In the next year, with your help, we will continue to move forward to our goal: to achieve sustainable economic, ecological and social development!
