Seismogram Analysis of Indonesian Earthquakes at DAV Observation Station
The S-wave velocity across the earth structure under Indonesia for Indonesia earthquakes has been investigated through seismogram analysis, simultaneously in the time domain and three Cartesian components. The data were recorded at DAV observational station, the Philippines. The main data set is the seismogram comparison between the measured and synthetic seismogram, instead of travel time data, as commonly used in other seismological research. The synthetic seismogram is calculated using the GEMINI method, which is equivalent to Mode Summation.The above seismogram comparison shows that the global earth mantle of PREMAN gives a deviating synthetic seismogram and has earlier arrival times than those of the measurement. The gradient of βh in the upper mantle layers is altered into a positive, rather than negative slope as stated in the PREMAN model, and negative corrections are imposed to the zero order of the polynomial's coefficients in all earth mantle layers. The excellent fitting, as well as travel time or waveform, is obtained from the surface waves of Love and Rayleigh, surface wave to the S and SS mantle waves as well as the core reflected waves.This result expresses that part of the earth mantle, due to a collision between India and Asia tectonic released zones, has a negative anomaly in S-wave velocity and vertical anisotropy in all of the earth mantle layers....

Low-carbon economic development has become a fundamental approach to coordinating economic development and carbon emissions mitigation. As rapid developing economic, aviation and navigation, and financial center of North China, Tianjin's energy demand and CO, emissions are mushrooming, with per capita CO, emission from fossil fuel combustion exceeding 20 t in 2020, which much exceeds current level of USA. Analysis of a Failed Port Slope and Stabilization
A nonmetal transportation port with soft soil foundation of Tianjin New Harbor failed during construction in 1997. The soil properties and geological changes before and after landslide were investigated by in situ test means. The stability of the slope was estimated with several calculation methods, such as the simplified Bishop method and the non-circle analysis method. According to the investigation and analysis results, the factors that may cause the slope failure can be determined as follows: excessive excavating, violating the normal construction procedure, excessive pore water pressure during earlier piling and sudden water-level fluctuation in front of the slope.Measures to improve the soil foundation for reconstructing the port include strengthening the failed slope with vibro sand piles, filling up the crushed stone layer, dividing the excavation into four steps and driving piles by larger intervals. Unsupervised linear spectral mixture analysis with AVIRIS data
A new algorithm for unsupervised hyperspectral data unmixing is investigated, which includes a modified minimum noise fraction (MNF) transformation and independent component analysis (ICA). The modified MNF transformation is used to reduce noise and remove correlation between neighboring bands. Then the ICA is applied to unmix hyperspectral images, and independent endmembers are obtained from unmixed images by using post-processing which includes image segmentation based on statistical histograms and morphological operations. The experimental results demonstrate that this algorithm can identify endmembers resident in mixed pixels. Meanwhile, the results show the high computational efficiency of the modified MNF transformation. The time consumed by the modified method is almost one fifth of the traditional MNF transformation....

Kernel Factor Analysis Algorithm with Varimax
Kernal factor analysis (KFA) with varimax was proposed by using Mercer kernel function which can map the data in the original space to a high-dimensional feature space, and was compared with the kernel principle component analysis (KPCA). Static analysis of synchronism deployable antenna
A 3D synchronism deployable antenna was designed, analyzed, and manufactured by our research group. This antenna consists oftetrahedral elements from central element. Because there are springs at the ends of some of the rods, spider joints are applied. For analysis purpose, the structure is simplified and modelled by using 2D beam elements that have no bending stiffness. Displacement vectors are defined to include two translational displacements and one torsional displacement. The stiffness matrix derived by this method is relatively simple and well defined. Risk analysis for earth dam overtopping
In this paper, a model of overtopping risk under the joint effects of floods and wind waves, which is based on risk analysis theory and takes into account the uncertainties of floods, wind waves, reservoir capacity and discharge capacity of the spillway, is proposed and applied to the Chengbihe Reservoir in Baise City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The simulated results indicate that the flood control limiting level can be raised by 0.40 m under the condition that the reservoir overtopping risk is controlled within a mean variance of 5×10-6. As a result, the reservoir storage will increase to 16 million m3 and electrical energy generation and other functions of the reservoir will also increase greatly....

Decision variables analysis for structured modeling
Structured modeling is the most commonly used modeling method, but it is not quite addaptive to significant changes in environmental conditions.
