  • Volumetric fraction measurement in oil-water-gas multiphase flow with dual energy gamma-ray system

    Volumetric fraction distribution measurement is a constituent part of process tomography system in oil-water-gas mulfiphase flow. With the technological development of nuclear radial inspection, dual-energy γ-ray techniques make it possible to investigate the concentration of the different components on the cross-section of oil-water-gas multiphase pipe-flow. The dual-energy gamma-ray technique is based on materials attenuation coefficients measurement comprised of two radioactive isotopes of 241Am and 241Cs which have emission energies at 59.5 keV and 662 keV in this project. Nuclear instruments and data acquisition system were designed to measure the material's attenuation dose rate and a number of static tests were conducted at the Multiphase Laboratory, Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Three phases of oil-water-gas media were investigated for their possible use to simulate different media volumetric fraction distributions in experimental vessels. Attenuation intensities were measured, and the arithmetic of linear attenuation coefficients and the equations of volumetric fractions were studied. Investigation of an unexpected measurement error from attenuation equations revealed that a modified arithmetic was involved and finally the system achieved acceptable accuracy in experimental research....

  • The key stage and moment of coalbed gas reservior evolution in the Qinshui Basin, China

    The evolution of coalbed gas reservoir is characterized by coalbed gas geochemistry and gas content. On the basis of burial history and thermal history, the forming process of coalbed gas reservoir and the gas accumulative history in the Qinshui Basin are discussed in this paper. The difference of the thermal history, geochemistry characteristic,and gas accumulative history between Yangcheng and Huozhou areas shows that the formation of coalbed gas reservoir in the Qinshui Basin is controlled by the geological process in the critical stage and the critical moment. The components and isotopes of coalbed methane are determined by the stage at which the coal maturation reaches its maximum rank. The coalbed methane accumulative history is related to the temperature and pressure of the coal burial history, because the coalbed gas is mainly in adsorptive state.It is stated that the gas content in the coal seam is controlled by the moment when the coal seam is uplifted to the shallowest position....

  • An electricity price model with consideration to load and gas price effects

    Some characteristics of the electricity load and prices are studied, and the relationship between electricity prices and gas (fuel) prices is analyzed in this paper. Because electricity prices are strongly dependent on load and gas prices, the authors constructed a model for electricity prices based on the effects of these two factors; and used the Geometric Mean Reversion Brownian Motion (GMRBM) model to describe the electricity load process, and a Geometric Brownian Motion(GBM) model to describe the gas prices; deduced the price stochastic process model based on the above load model and gas price model.   • EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF HFC-134a GAS HYDRATE FORMATION PROCESS

    Refrigerant gas hydrates have brilliant prospects as cool storage material of air-conditioning system. In this paper, when the ratio of the weight of HFC-134a to that of water is 2. 17%, systematic experiments have been carried out on the formation process of the HFC-134a gas hydrate including of the phase equilibrium, the influence of supercooling degree, and the influence of agitation. The results indicate that the critical decomposition temperature and the critical decomposition pressure of R134a hydrate is 283.4K and 414K respectively, the formation of gas hydrate was promoted with increasing the supercooling degree and the agitation. However, it is desired that the supercooling degree is smaller.Therefore, it is important problem that the study of optimum of supercooling degree for cool storage system....
